New Jersey Expands Family Leave Act

The changes to New Jersey’s Family Leave Act (“NJ FLA”) are effective July 17,2026. The changes include an expanded definition of which NJ employers are subject to NJ FLA, a reduction to the number of hours and time with the employer prior to an employee being eligible for NJ FLA, and changes to how NJ Temporary Disability Insurance and Family Leave Insurance benefits can be used.
