2024 EEO-1 Reporting Due June 24, 2025

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has announced that the 2024 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection deadline for employers to submit demographic data. For 2024, the filing platform opened May 20, 2025. Employers have until June 24, 2025, to submit their EEO-1 reports.
The EEO-1 Component 1 report is a mandatory annual data collection that requires all private sector employers with 100 or more employees, and federal contractors with 50 or more employees meeting certain criteria, to submit demographic workforce data, including data by race/ethnicity, sex and job categories.
In light of Executive Order 14168, which mandates federal forms to only include “male” or “female” if collecting sex-related data, the “non-binary” option is eliminated from this year’s filing. Previously released versions of the Instruction Booklet have been edited to remove the non-binary option.
Federal contractors with 50+ employees may be experiencing confusion with this year’s filing as a result of Executive Order 14173 which revoked previous rules outlining the requirements for federal contractors with 50+ employees to file EEO-1 reports. The 2024 Instruction Booklet still references the previous rules related to federal contractors, despite the Executive Order revoking them. Federal contractors falling into this category should still prepare the necessary information for this reporting cycle, unless further guidance stating otherwise is released prior to the due date.
