Innovative Benefit Planning, in conjunction with United Benefit Advisors (UBA), annually conducts the largest and most informative employer-sponsored health plan survey in the country. The 2007 UBA health plan survey contained validated responses from 16,485 health plans sponsored by 11,723 employers nationwide who cumulatively employ nearly 1.9 million employees and approximately 4.5 million total lives. The UBA Health Plan Survey is the largest and most comprehensive survey on plan design and costs ever conducted.

While past surveys have primarily targeted large employers, the focus of the UBA survey is to report results that are applicable to the small and mid-size companies who represent the overwhelming majority of the nation's employers. With employer health plan information reported for over 3,100 cities from 48 states and the District of Columbia, differences in plan design and plan costs between various regions and industry groups become apparent.
